If you want a ‘Dumsor’ timetable create it yourself – Energy Minister Replied to Dumsor Advocates

The Energy Minister of Ghana, Mathew Opoku Prempeh, has issued a stern warning to those demanding a load-shedding timetable, accusing them of harboring sinister intentions. Speaking to journalists during a press conference on the 25th of March 2024, at the inauguration of the governing New Patriotic Party's campaign team in the Ashanti Region, the Minister did not mince his words.

He challenged those asking for a load-shedding timetable to provide one if it already exists, questioning the very reason for such a demand. The Minister expressed his surprise and dismay at the audacity of those who would wish for bad things to happen to the country. In his view, anyone asking for a load-shedding timetable is a threat to Ghana's well-being and security.

The Minister went on to elaborate on his concerns, stating that those who demand a load-shedding timetable are enemies of the nation. He warned that such requests are an act of pure malice towards the country, and the government would not tolerate any actions that aim to harm Ghana. He urged the public to exercise caution and refrain from making unwarranted demands that could potentially put the country's security and prosperity in jeopardy.

The Minister concluded by reiterating his warning to those demanding a load-shedding timetable, stating that the government is fully committed to safeguarding Ghana's interests and would take decisive action against anyone who seeks to undermine its stability and security.

Power supply has not been stable across the country for a few weeks now.

While the minority caucus has persistently demanded a load-shedding timetable from the state power distributor, the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission recently ordered ECG to publish one by

27 March.
