Government Warns Ministers Against Premature Policy Announcements

The Government has issued a strong directive cautioning all Ministers and public officials to desist from unveiling or discussing new state policies in public before they have been formally approved by Cabinet.

According to the directive, such premature disclosures risk creating confusion among the public and could undermine the integrity of government decision-making processes.

The statement emphasized that all major policy initiatives must first go through the appropriate Cabinet review and approval stages before being communicated to the public through official channels.

Government sources say the move is intended to ensure consistency in communication, prevent misinformation, and maintain collective responsibility among Ministers.

This follows recent instances where certain sector Ministers publicly hinted at major policy directions that were yet to receive Cabinet approval, sparking debates and speculation across the country.

The directive serves as a reminder that Ministers are expected to uphold Cabinet confidentiality and coordinate all communications through the Ministry of Information or the Office of the President to avoid mixed signals.
