WO1 William Mensah, the Ghana Armed Forces officer captured on CCTV during a confrontation at the e-Pride Pharmacy in Burma Camp, has been granted GH¢70,000 bail with two sureties.
The incident, which occurred on October 29, gained public attention after video footage showed Mensah in a disagreement with a pharmacy attendant over a GH¢65 refund for a medication reportedly purchased for his son. A female customer at the scene also became involved in the exchange.
CCTV recordings later showed the situation escalating into a physical altercation involving Mensah, the attendant, and the customer.
Following public concern over the incident, the Military Police arrested Mensah for questioning as part of their internal investigative process. The Ghana Armed Forces later released a statement emphasizing their commitment to maintaining professional conduct among all personnel, whether on duty or not.
The case continues as investigations proceed.
