A political commentator, Lawyer Kwesi Botwe Junior, has launched a fierce criticism against Kennedy Agyapong, describing him as mentally unstable and unfit to lead Ghana if ever given the opportunity.
Speaking during a live interview on Wontumi TV, Kwesi Botwe Junior expressed deep concern about the kind of leadership qualities Ghana needs in the coming years, emphasizing the importance of mental fortitude, emotional maturity, and resilience under pressure in anyone aspiring to the presidency.
According to him, Ghana cannot afford to be led by someone who easily loses composure or reacts harshly to provocation. He referenced recent public outbursts and personal attacks allegedly made by Ken Agyapong towards party members and journalists.
> “We need a president whose mental fortitude and resilience can withstand pressure — even in the face of extreme provocation,” Botwe Junior said. “But if someone like Ken Agyapong becomes president, you would have to show your bank statement before you can talk. He insults people by calling them poor and telling them to keep quiet.”
Kwesi Botwe Junior further claimed that Kennedy Agyapong has on several occasions made demeaning remarks to individuals within his own political circle, including Jennifer Queen and Kwame Baffoe Abronye, calling them poor and unworthy of speaking in his presence.
He went on to make a shocking claim about Ken’s mental stability, alleging that the Assin Central MP would be unable to handle the pressures of presidency without medical assistance.
> “Someone like Ken Agyapong is mentally unstable,” he alleged. “Without receiving a specific injection, he wouldn’t be capable of conducting a cabinet meeting if given the nod to lead this country.”

His remarks have since sparked heated debate among Ghanaians, especially within the New Patriotic Party (NPP), where Kennedy Agyapong remains a popular but controversial figure known for his outspoken nature and blunt criticisms of fellow politicians.
While some social media users have praised Kwesi Botwe Junior for being bold enough to raise concerns about temperament and leadership qualities, others have condemned his comments as disrespectful and overly personal, arguing that political discourse should focus on policies and vision rather than personal attacks.
Kennedy Agyapong, a long-time legislator and business magnate, has been one of the most vocal figures in Ghanaian politics. He is admired by many for his honesty and courage but equally criticized for his temper and frequent use of harsh language.
Kwesi Botwe Junior’s remarks add to the growing public conversation about the mental and emotional fitness of political leaders, a topic that has become increasingly relevant as the nation looks toward the 2028 general elections.
