Ghana Police Arrest Suspect for Publishing False News

The Ghana Police Service has arrested Samuel Amadotor for allegedly publishing false information about Mr. Okatakye Boakye Danquah Ababio I. According to a police statement released on 20th November 2025, the arrest was carried out with support from the National Signals Bureau (NSB).


Police investigations revealed that the suspect admitted to the offence during interrogation. He further mentioned that he had been contracted by an individual identified as Chairman Michael Yeboah to publish the false content. The police added that efforts are currently underway to locate and question the said chairman to assist with the ongoing investigation.


Authorities confirmed that Samuel Amadotor is in custody and is expected to be arraigned before court on 21st November 2025.


The statement was signed by Chief Inspector Brigitte Babanawo, Public Relations Officer for the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
