Former Energy Minister and key member of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, has expressed strong confidence in the party’s chances of winning the 2028 general elections.
According to him, if the NPP delegates and grassroots members rally behind a competent and deserving candidate to lead the party after 2024, the NPP will not only retain power but also secure a landslide victory of over 2 million votes against the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Dr. Opoku Prempeh, popularly known as Napo, emphasized that the NPP’s track record in governance, coupled with continued unity and commitment, will be crucial to maintaining the party’s dominance.
He further urged members to put aside internal divisions and focus on the bigger picture — ensuring that the party remains strong and attractive to the Ghanaian electorate.
> “The NDC can’t match us if we make the right choice and stay united. With the right candidate, we’ll beat them by more than 2 million votes in 2028,” he declared confidently.
