The event is taking place at Modern City Hotel in Tamale, where Cheif Faila is set to put forth her culinary enthusiasm until January 5th. With an Official record holder now held by Alan Fisher, Failatu faces stiff competition, as reports suggest that Ugandan chef Mama D has unofficially outperformed the existing norm. Abdul Failatu has captured the challenge and she is determined to not only close off the official record but also surpass any unofficial declarations made by her competitors.  The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration is advocating for a considerable hike in passport fees, seeking to raise the current cost from GH¢100 to GH¢644 ~ Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey made this announcement, in an interview with Graphic Online. Mrs. Botchwey emphasized the financial tension on the government, explaining that the production cost of a passport booklet is GH¢400, leaving a deficit of GH¢300 per passport. This deficit, she emphasized, impedes crucial investments in the Passport Office and is no longer sustainable. “Ghanaians pay just about GH¢100 for a passport, To produce one passport booklet, it costs GH¢400, which means that for every passport that an applicant acquires, the government has to put in GH¢300 and this is not sustainable,” Addressing the Parliament before the approval of a GH¢1.127 million budget estimate for her ministry, Ayorkor Botchwey urged the honorable house to consider the proposal, currently under review by the Committee on Subsidiary

According to figures from the Ghana Statistical Service (GSS), food inflation was the primary supporter of the decline in the rate of inflation. Food inflation plunged by 12.6% to 32.2% in November 2023. The month-on-month rate of food inflation was 0.8%. For non-food inflation, it also eased to 21.7%, as approximated at 27.7% in October 2023. The month-on-month rate of non-food inflation was placed at 2.2%. Whilst inflation for locally produced items was 26.1%, that of imported items stood at 27.1%. Five Divisions Recorded Inflation Rates Elevated than the National Average. The former first Vice Chairperson of the New Patriotic Party and sister of the late Kofi Abrefa Busia, former Ghanaian prime minister, has died. Madam Ama Busia who until her passing, was a member of the NPP Council of Elders, is said to have died, Tuesday, 12 December 2023 after a short illness. Madam Busia until her death today (12 December) still looks strong and beautiful at age 87. She is noted for her objection and political criticisms against the Acheampong government. Due to this, it is a matter of record that she was arrested 7 times. On the 7th arrest, she was detained for 90 days.
