Illegal Mining Chinese national, Aisha Huang is to serve a four-year sentence for mining offences

The 'galamsey queen' also known as En Huang will in addition to her jail term pay a fine of GH₵48,000.


An Accra High Court on Monday, December 4, 2023, found her guilty of undertaking a mining operation without a license, facilitating the participation of persons engaged in mining operations, the illegal employment of foreigners, and entering Ghana while prohibited from re-entry.


Facing the judge in her usual nose mask and white scarf, Aisha was seated in the dock one hour into the reading of the judgment. 


While Aisha Huang had denied all the charges, it was the court’s view that she contradicted herself in her defense statements in the trial which lasted for one year, and two months. 


Aisha Huang was re-arrested after she found her way into the country following her deportation in 2018 also for illegal mining offenses.

22 kilometers Works to commence on Deplorable Adenta - Dodowa Road

  The Ghana Highway Authority (GHA), has awarded a contract to OSWALD LIMITED to reconstruct the 22km of Adenta - Dodowa road to ease the discomfort commuters go through daily on that stretch.  The road has been in a deplorable state for years and has generated public outcry with a call on the Ghana Highways Authority to reconstruct it.  Now with the help of the Minister, The contractor has moved to the site today 13th December 2023, and work will soon commence.  TAGS GHANA HIGHWAY AUTHORITY OSWALD LTM DODOWA & ADENTA COMMUNITY

Reconstruction and expansion of the Accra-Tema Motorway into a 10-lane span gets underway

The reconstruction and expansion of the Accra-Tema Motorway started on Tuesday, January 2nd, 2024 The 19.5-kilometre project is a 10-lane span from the Tetteh Quarshie roundabout to the Tema roundabout and the project was awarded to Maripoma Enterprise Limited, a Ghanaian-owned construction company.  Minister of Roads and Highway Honorable Amoako-Atta announced that the Accra-Tema Motorway project was the first phase of the expansion project. The second project is from Tetteh Quarshie to Apenkwa while the third phase spans from Apenkwa to Neoplan. He assured Ghanaians that work on the project would be executed with speed and urged institutions that had erected billboards on the road to remove them as soon as possible. The Minister said the country would witness road evolution in 2024, characterized by the commissioning of completed projects.
