Foreign National Arrested After Brutal Machete Attack on Pragya Operator in Ghana — One Dead, One Injured

A tragic and shocking incident has shaken residents of a Ghanaian community after a commercial tricycle (popularly known as Pragya) operator was killed and another passenger severely injured in a violent machete attack allegedly carried out by a suspected foreign national.

According to local reports, the incident occurred a few weeks ago when the Pragya operator was transporting a passenger. The suspect, believed to be from Togo, reportedly stopped the tricycle and launched a sudden machete attack on both the operator and the passenger.

The victims sustained deep machete wounds and were left in critical condition. The attacker, thinking both had died, dragged their bodies into a nearby bush, covered them with leaves, and attempted to flee with the tricycle. However, his escape plan failed after the tricycle’s tires went flat, forcing him to abandon it.

Sadly, one of the victims died instantly from the brutal assault. The other, miraculously surviving despite severe injuries, managed to crawl from the bush to the roadside, where he was rescued by passersby and rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Upon regaining consciousness, the surviving victim described the attacker, helping authorities identify and arrest the suspect, who is said to be a foreign national from Togo. The suspect has since been remanded and is currently standing trial before the court.

This horrific attack has sparked outrage among residents, with many calling for stricter monitoring of foreign nationals and enhanced community safety measures to prevent such violent incidents in the future.
