Bawumia Promises to “Bring Aburokyire to Ghana” If Elected President

New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer hopeful, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, says his vision for Ghana is to create a system where citizens no longer feel compelled to travel abroad in search of greener pastures. According to him, his goal is to “bring Aburokyire to Ghana” by building a country with opportunities comparable to those found overseas.

Speaking during his campaign engagement, Dr. Bawumia emphasized that Ghana has the potential to provide world-class economic opportunities if the right policies are pursued with diligence and consistency. He explained that young people continue to travel abroad because they believe that is where they can secure jobs, better income, advanced healthcare, and improved living standards.

Bawumia said his administration, if elected, would prioritize digital transformation, industrial expansion, and private-sector friendly reforms to stimulate economic growth and reduce the desire for mass migration. He stressed that it is not enough to tell the youth to stay in Ghana—leaders must make the country worthy of their ambitions.

Dr. Bawumia highlighted several policy directions including modernized agriculture, digital-driven public services, improved access to credit for businesses, and large-scale job creation through technology. He maintained that Ghana can become a competitive hub in Africa if leadership remains focused on innovation and economic discipline.

He concluded by calling on party delegates and the Ghanaian electorate to support his vision, insisting that the future of the country depends on bold leadership willing to break old economic patterns and pave the way for local prosperity.
