Dr. Mustapha Abdul Hamid, the first accused in the ongoing GH¢291 million National Petroleum Authority (NPA) case, has filed a motion before the court requesting the temporary release of his passport.
According to court sources, the former NPA Chief Executive is seeking permission to travel to Canada to participate in a political event. The application is expected to be heard at the next sitting as part of ongoing proceedings in the high-profile corruption case.
Dr. Hamid and nine others are currently facing prosecution over alleged procurement and financial irregularities involving the NPA.
