Ghana Police have arrested the individual captured in a viral video assaulting his wife while she was unclothed

The Ghana Police Service has taken swift action following a disturbing viral Facebook video that captured a man physically assaulting a woman believed to be his wife. The incident reportedly took place at the couple’s residence in Ofankor within the Ga East Municipality.

According to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), the suspect, identified as John Odartey Lamptey, was arrested on Monday, November 17, 2025, at the family home.

Police say the situation escalated when two of the suspect’s siblings—Grace Kushie Lamptey and Louis Odartey Lamptey—attempted to attack a female tenant they believed had recorded and circulated the video. Both siblings were arrested, and the tenant was immediately rescued for her safety.

Authorities are currently working to locate the victim, who fled the scene before officers arrived. Ensuring her safety remains a top priority for investigators.
