“I Will Get You Arrested If You Sell Jobs After Being Given a Position” – Kennedy Agyapong Warns

NPP Presidential aspirant and Former Assin Central MP, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, has issued a strong warning to public officials, appointees, and anyone privileged to serve in government: selling jobs or demanding money from desperate job seekers will not be tolerated under his watch.

Speaking passionately during a public engagement, Agyapong condemned the widespread practice of job-selling, where some officials illegally demand payment before facilitating recruitment into public institutions. He described the act as exploitative, criminal, and a betrayal of the trust Ghanaians place in their leaders.

Agyapong stressed that if he ever becomes president or is given authority to appoint individuals into public office, anyone caught selling jobs will face immediate arrest and prosecution, regardless of their relationship with him. According to him, leadership requires discipline, integrity, and loyalty to the nation—not greed.

He expressed frustration over how young people, already struggling with unemployment, are forced to pay huge sums before getting access to opportunities that should be merit-based. He noted that such practices destroy confidence in state institutions and worsen corruption.

The outspoken MP reaffirmed his commitment to fairness, saying he would rather fire and prosecute a corrupt appointee than allow their actions to tarnish any administration he leads or supports.

Agyapong’s firm stance has reignited public debate about corruption in recruitment processes, especially within security services, state agencies, and public institutions. Many citizens have praised his boldness, urging other leaders to show similar resolve.
