Supreme Court Overturns GH¢1 Million Judgment Debt Against Asamoah Gyan

In a major legal victory for former Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan, the Supreme Court of Ghana has overturned a GH¢1 million judgment debt that was earlier imposed on him.

The apex court also quashed the garnishee order that had frozen Gyan’s accounts across seven different banks, effectively restoring his financial freedom after months of legal contention.

The judgment debt stemmed from a long-standing civil case involving the football legend, but today’s ruling brings final relief to the celebrated striker.

Legal experts have described the Supreme Court’s decision as a landmark judgment, emphasizing that it underscores the importance of due process in enforcing monetary claims.

Asamoah Gyan, who captained Ghana’s national football team for years and remains the country’s all-time top scorer, has yet to issue an official statement. However, sources close to him say he has expressed deep gratitude for the court’s decision and the support of his legal team throughout the case.

More details are expected to emerge as the full judgment is released in the coming days.
