Uniformed Clash: Soldiers Overpower Police in Heated Traffic Confrontation

A brief but dramatic confrontation unfolded at a traffic intersection when a group of soldiers commuting in two military buses, accompanied by armoured vehicles and motorcades, clashed with about five MTTD officers over control of the traffic.

According to eyewitness accounts, the incident began when the traffic light turned red, causing vehicles to halt. The MTTD officers were managing the lanes when the soldiers approached and pleaded with the police to clear their lane so the military convoy could pass. The officers, however, insisted that the traffic light cycle be respected and instructed the convoy to wait.

The disagreement quickly escalated into a heated exchange. The military personnel, feeling delayed, attempted to manage the traffic themselves. They began signalling vehicles to move, but the police countered with orders for the cars to stop, causing further tension and visible confusion among motorists.

As the exchanged commands became ineffective, the soldiers decided to take matters into their own hands. Witnesses say some military officers forcibly pushed the police officers aside to create a passage. With the officers moved from the way, the soldiers directed the vehicles forward, allowing their convoy to drive through the intersection.

In the end, the military team succeeded in clearing a path and continued their journey, leaving residents stunned at the rare public display of friction between two key security services.
