President John Dramani Mahama has directed the immediate termination of all contracts between the Government of Ghana and Strategic Mobilisation Ghana Limited (SML) following the conclusion of an investigation by the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP).
The directive comes after the OSP completed its probe into allegations of irregularities, questionable procurement processes, and possible financial improprieties involving SML and some state agencies.
According to sources, the Special Prosecutor’s findings raised serious concerns about the transparency and legality of the agreements signed between the company and the government.
President Mahama’s decision underscores his administration’s commitment to accountability, transparency, and good governance, as he continues efforts to restore public confidence in state institutions and protect the public purse.
Government officials are expected to begin implementing the termination directive immediately, ensuring that all related payments and operational activities with SML are halted.
The Office of the Special Prosecutor is also expected to provide further details and recommendations following its report on the matter.
