Family of Late NDC Politician Drags Widow to Court Over DNA Test Refusal in Helicopter Crash Case

The family of the late former NDC Obuasi East Parliamentary Candidate, Samuel Aboagye, has taken legal action against his US-based wife, Abigail Salami, at the Obuasi District Court.

According to reports, the Aboagye family accuses the widow of deliberately ignoring multiple requests to present her daughter for DNA verification, a key process initiated by the government to help identify the remains of victims of the tragic “Big 8” Helicopter Crash.

Authorities reportedly requested DNA samples from all relatives of the deceased victims to confirm their identities. In response, the Aboagye family complied by presenting the older daughter of the late politician’s ex-girlfriend for testing. However, the widow, Abigail Salami, has allegedly refused to make her child available for the same purpose.

The family contends that her refusal has delayed the identification process and raised concerns about transparency in the ongoing investigations surrounding the fatal crash.

The case has now been officially filed before the Obuasi District Court, where proceedings are expected to determine the next steps in enforcing the DNA testing order.

Further updates are expected as the court deliberates on the matter.
