The Ghana Police Service in Cape Coast has confirmed that the Circuit Court Two has sentenced Eric Asamoah to 16 years imprisonment in hard labour after he pleaded guilty to a charge of defilement.
According to the police statement issued on 6th November 2025, the case was presided over by Her Honour Nana Aba Quaiba Nunoo. The incident occurred on November 2, 2025, and was subsequently brought before the court for hearing.
The accused person admitted guilt during proceedings and was convicted on his own plea. The court, after consideration, handed down a 16-year prison sentence to serve as a deterrent to others who may engage in similar acts.
Eric Asamoah has since been transferred to the Ankaful Prison to begin his sentence.
The Ghana Police Service reiterated its commitment to pursuing justice for victims of sexual offences and encouraged the public to continue reporting such crimes for prompt action.
