According to community sources, Abena, the victim, had repeatedly complained about Sylvester’s excessive marijuana use, stating that the constant inhalation of the smoke was affecting her health. She reportedly threatened to end the relationship if he refused to stop.
Sylvester is said to have promised to quit smoking, but shortly afterward asked Abena for money to buy what he claimed would be his “last roll.” She refused.
He then approached a friend, a local barber, also seeking money. The friend turned him down, suggesting instead that Sylvester learn barbering to earn a living and support his lifestyle responsibly.
Later that evening, around 10 p.m., residents reported hearing multiple gunshot sounds from Sylvester’s direction. Abena was later discovered dead in his room.
Sylvester has since fled the community, and the Ghana Police Service has launched a manhunt to locate and arrest him.
Residents remain stunned as investigations continue
