The clarification was provided by the Director of the Special Investigations Unit at the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Headquarters, Chief Superintendent Seth Sewornu, following the arrest of the viral content creator over allegations linked to the dissemination of false doomsday messages.
According to Chief Superintendent Sewornu, Ebo Noah was arrested in connection with what Police describe as a doomsday conspiracy, after he published and circulated alarming claims capable of causing fear and panic among the public. The suspect, who presented himself online as a prophetic figure, was found to have no religious or prophetic credentials.

He further confirmed that the self-acclaimed content creator will be arraigned before a court today, where he is expected to face charges including false communication, intentionally misleading the public, and publication of false news with the intent to cause fear and panic.
The Police noted that the case forms part of broader efforts to curb the abuse of social media platforms for the spread of misinformation, particularly content that threatens public peace and security.
Authorities have cautioned individuals against exploiting religion, prophecy, or online influence to disseminate unverified information, stressing that such actions carry serious legal consequences under Ghana’s laws.
Further updates are expected as the suspect appears before the court.
